All of the products I’ve listed, I've either used personally or have been recommended to use by trusted professionals. I’m not receiving any kickbacks by recommending these.
Sealant/Caulk - An amazing caulk that sticks to nearly everything.
It’s paintable, sticks to wet and dry surfaces, seals around almost
anything, indoors and out. Great for showers, tubs, toilets, taps and spouts,
windows, doors, around trim, siding, and vents. Seriously, a great product.
You can't clean it up with water but it out performs any caulk I've used.
Big Stretch - With the wide range of temperatures we have in Minnesota, you have movement in the home's structure. With this movement, things like door frames, windows, etc. can open up gaps. Big Stretch is a water-based sealant meant to handle this movement without cracking.
Goodbye Cracks - An elastic crack cover that works great for plaster and drywall. The elastic film stretches with movement and can be painted over. Has worked great in my 1895 home with a combination of lathe and plaster and sheetrock walls.
Dap 3.0 Self-Leveling Concrete & Masonry Sealant - Great for sealing large cracks in walkways & between the garage and driveway apron. For larger cracks fill with expandable foam or a pre-caulking filler rope. This is only recommended for horizontal surfaces since it does self level.
Asphalt(in a bag) - Use to repair asphalt walkways and driveways. Clean the area first with the hose sprayer. Let dry then pour it out on a hot day put a board over it and tamp down with a hammer or your feet. Available at Menards (about $10).
Parging and masonry wall repair - "QuikWall" is a product made by Quikcrete. Professionals say the product is great for masonry wall and parging repair. Check with your local supplier such as Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, and most home building material suppliers.
Panasonic Bath Fan - A built in humidity sensor to help control excessive moisture and humidity, aiding in the prevention of mold and mildew. It has both a motion sensor and built in timer, adjustable from 30 seconds to 60 minutes. When relative humidity increases it automatically turns on, and runs until humidity drops, eliminating the need to install a switch and saving on install fees.
